Lip Gloss & Law Enforcement: Women In The Criminal Justice Field

Thursday, July 1st, 2010

The field of criminal justice is no longer a male-dominated industry. In fact, it is now a booming and nearly recession-proof field that is constantly seeking highly-trained individuals of both gender. The following are descriptions of the many rewarding career options the field of criminal justice has to offer for women.

Law Enforcement:

Opportunities for women exist in law enforcement at local, county, state and federal levels. Whether you want to work patrol, corrections, security or become specialized in some area, law enforcement may be the place for you. State positions are available in the area of highway patrol or the division of criminal intelligence. Federal positions for law enforcement vary within each agency. Such positions are available in the Federal Bureau of Investigations; Border Patrol; Alcohol, Tobacco and Firearm; Secret Service and Homeland Security.

Civilian Support:

Every agency of criminal justice uses civilian support personnel and many of these positions are held by women. Report takers, dispatchers, records specialists, computer information support personnel and radio technicians are the predominate positions held by civilian support.

Court Positions:

Lawyers, victim advocates, domestic violence advocates, paralegals, court reporters and support staff positions are other viable options for women in criminal justice. There are investigative positions for both prosecutors and defense attorneys as well. These positions generally require some prior investigative experience.

Corrections

The field of corrections offers many advantages to women as well. Female correctional officers are needed in any institution that houses females. These can also range from adult to juvenile facilities and maximum to minimum security facilities.

Civilian Positions:

Private security grows each day as more and more agencies are filling in where law enforcement can no longer reach. Large corporations and hospitals often have security/loss prevention positions that offer better hours and advancement opportunities than law enforcement.

Forensic Science

Criminalistics is a field within criminal justice that will continue to grow as technology grows. This field involves advanced crime scene investigating. Arson, handwriting, ballistics, DNA, drug screening and fibers are only a few of the many areas of specialties within the forensic science fields.

When looking at a career in the criminal justice field, women are only as limited as their thinking. Find your passion and follow it, as gender should never stop you from any career you choose.

New Greek Law Team for Ince & Co Piraeus Joins on 2 January 2009

Sunday, June 13th, 2010

International law firm Ince & Co is responding to market needs with the appointment of a team of experienced and respected Greek lawyers to its Piraeus office. The firm’s new Greek legal team comprises litigators and advocates George Iatridis and Dimitris Kapsis, together with Greek lawyers Dimitris Ghiomelakis and Donatos Apostolou. George Iatridis, together with Dimitris Kapsis, will join Ince & Co’s Piraeus office on 2 January 2009.

Since 1993 Ince & Co has advised on English law matters in Piraeus, with the emphasis on serving the international maritime community. The appointment of the new team will enable the firm’s clients to seek immediate advice on matters of Greek law and to be represented in the Greek courts by Ince & Co. George Iatridis practises all types of litigation, including shipping, insurance, banking, shipping casualties and general commercial work. He joins Ince & Co from Vgenopoulos & Partners, where he has been a partner for the last 12 years. Dimitris Kapsis joins Ince & Co from his own law office, where he advised on a wide range of shipping, corporate and insurance matters. Dimitris Ghiomelakis also joins from Vgenopoulos, and Donatos Apostolou from his own practice.

Jonathan Elvey, managing partner of Ince & Co’s Piraeus office said: “Both George Iatridis and Dimitris Kapsis are well known within the Greek legal community and we have worked with both of them over the years. We have a high regard for their professionalism and integrity, as do those of our clients whom they have advised, and I am delighted that they have both decided to join us.“ George Iatridis said: “I have known the Ince team in Piraeus for many years and work actively with them on many matters. I am looking forward not only to building the firm’s Greek law practice with my new colleagues, but also to working with Ince partners worldwide.”

Senior partner of Ince & Co James Wilson commented: “I am very pleased that George and Dimitris are joining us in Piraeus. Greece controls about 20% of the world’s shipping and, although shipping is affected by the worldwide economic downturn, our clients will continue to require advice on Greek law that George, with Dimitris and the team, will provide. These appointments continue our strategy of ensuring that across our network of offices we combine the ability to advise our international clients on English law with advising on local law where permitted.”

LAWS OF ATTRACTION, KEY TO FIND YOUR DESIRE COME TRUE

Saturday, May 29th, 2010

“If someone really wants something badly and truly believes that it’s totally possible, and he/she will definitely get it, and putting a lot of concentration and thought onto that he wants, means you’ll probably get it”, is the new age description of law of attraction.

The Law of Attraction arrogates to have basics in Quantum Physics. According to advocators of this law, thoughts have a wild power energy which attracts whatever the person is thinking of. In order to control this energy to use it as an advantage, the advocators state that people must practice four most important things: i.e.

Knowing accurately what they want.

Question the universe for laws of attraction

Feeling the exact gravity of this law might require some sort of introspection. To have a practical experience of the law, people have to Know, Feel and behave if the object they desire is already their only (visualize). Be very open to receive it at any time as well as let go of (the adherence to) the result. Thinking of what people do not have manifests itself in not having that, while if one abides by these principles, and pushes back all his “negative” thoughts, the universe will fulfill a person’s desires.

LOA is the one of the powerful laws in the universe which governs the universe too. It is such a simple in concept yet its practice is badly necessary to avail it.  But once you achieve it, you will never look back!  It will be submerged in you forever. Like attracts like- is the simplest way to define this universal law. Give and take relationship might not be the corner stone of every healthy relationship. Proper understanding makes people closer to each other.

Also in some other words we can define it as; you get what you put your energy and focus on, whether wanted or unwanted. This Law is inert. That means if you keep deep negative thought on something, which will also take place in your life.  Every form of energy and matter is attracted to a like vibration. All human beings are the living magnets. Energy attracts like energy.

Law of attraction is not connected with spirituality only. Whether you know or you may not know, you are aware or unaware this law happens and is happening each and every moment in your life. It is influencing your life in a greater magnitude.  You just have to be very much positive on what you want, focus entirely on it without wasting a moment on negativity and leave all the other things on the mighty universe. The delivery of your desire will entirely be taken care of by the universe. You have to keep full faith on your strong desire and you will achieve miracles. “The Secret” is a short movie by Bob Doyle which can help you understanding this fact a lot.
