Not at all &#8211; I am a big fan of contact with potential employers in your search job&#8217;m for good reasons and with proper technique. </P> Cold calling covers more ground: finding a personal vision of a &#8220;hot&#8221; might call for some companies, where you can simply not possible on a guided tour. <p><strong>Hairdresser</strong></p>
<p>You will be responsible for beautifying the customer. Anything involving shampooing, cutting, coloring the hair, and styling the hair is in your job description. Sometimes the customer may require a special look for a dress up event. You can let your creative side loose by using wigs and applying makeup.</p>
<p><strong>Elderly and Alzheimer&#8217;s Caregivers</strong></p>
<p>Caregivers&#8217; roles include daily care and companionship to the elderly. There will be grooming, bathing and feeding sessions. You will become their advocate and communication to the outside world in financial and medical matters. You may also administer their medication depending on your experience levels. Salaries typically range from $7 to $15 dollars an hour.</p>
<p><strong>Bank Tellers</strong></p>
<p>If you want to get an inside look into banking and money transactions, being a bank teller will allow you to receive and pay out money. Much of the job is customer service but you are also required to maintain transactions and input logs and checks into their accounts.</p>
<p><strong>Food Catering</strong></p>
<p>Caterers will be required to prepare food for events and customers. They will service this food to the event participants and be responsible for the clean up after the event ends. You will an extra duty to write out a menu prior to an event for approval by the paying customer.</p>
<p>If you&#8217;re not looking for stability right now but something to ride out the recession, consider taking up one of these jobs. The important thing is not to let your current skills deteriorate in the meanwhile. This means, you have maintain your marketable skills such as engaging in side projects and keeping up with latest job skills. 			<content:encoded><![CDATA[<p>The medical field has always offered great career opportunities and provides not only job security but favorable incomes. According to the Bureau of Labor Statistics, Registered Nursing is the number 1 Career in the Top Ten Occupations with the Largest Job Growth.<br />
Nurses promote health, prevent disease, and help patients cope with illness. They collaborate with all members of the healthcare team to provide the care needed by each patient as an individual. Nurses are hands-on health professionals who provide focused and highly personalized care. The field has a wide range of career opportunities, ranging from entry-level practitioner to doctoral-level researcher.<br />
Nurses also serve as advocates for patients, families, and communities. They develop and manage nursing care plans; instruct patients and their families in proper care; and help individuals and groups take steps to improve or maintain their health.<br />
An entry-level nurse can find a job with a two-year RN degree, there is a growing national movement to require all nurses to hold a BSN. An increasing number of nursing schools are offering accelerated bachelor&#8217;s and master&#8217;s degree programs. There also are a growing number of RN-to-MSN and MSN-to-Ph.D. programs, designed to meet the increasing demand for more highly skilled nurses in the workforce.<br />
Nursing has also four Advanced Practice clinical professions, each of which requires a master&#8217;s degree and separate certification: Clinical Nurse Specialist, Nurse, Anesthetist, Nurse-Midwife, Nurse Practitioner.<br />
All States and the District of Columbia require LPNs to pass a licensing examination after completing a State-approved practical nursing program. Licensed practical nurses (LPNs), or licensed vocational nurses (LVNs), care for the sick, injured, convalescent, and disabled under the direction of physicians and registered nurses.<br />
Most LPNs provide basic bedside care. They take vital signs such as temperature, blood pressure, pulse, and respiration. They also treat bedsores, prepare and give injections and enemas, apply dressings, give alcohol rubs and massages, apply ice packs and hot water bottles, and monitor catheters. LPNs observe patients and report adverse reactions to medications or treatments. They collect samples for testing, perform routine laboratory tests, feed patients, and record food and fluid intake and output. They help patients with bathing, dressing, and personal hygiene, keep them comfortable, and care for their emotional needs. In states where the law allows, they may administer prescribed medicines or start intravenous fluids. Some LPNs help deliver, care for, and feed infants. Experienced LPNs may supervise nursing assistants and aides.<br />
In addition to providing routine bedside care, LPNs in nursing care facilities help to evaluate residents&#8217; needs, develop care plans, and supervise the care provided by nursing aides. In doctors&#8217; offices and clinics, they also may make appointments, keep records, and perform other clerical duties. There are many different options for you in the nursing profession. This diverse field offers you many different departments to work in. You can work hands-on with patients or you might want to work in a lab or research facility. You might choose to work in a specific field such as OB-GYN or Pediatrics. There are also many opportunities for advancement.  Find a nursing job or career that utilizes your unique set of skills, talents and abilities. The career process is similar to the nursing process, which includes assessment, planning, implementation and evaluation, and they parallel each other.<br />
Nurses in rehab facilities and convalescent homes get to be part of the recovery process, and many take great pride and joy in watching a patient advance and recover. Convalescent home jobs include charge nurses, floor nurses and nursing assistants as well as physical and occupational therapy specialists.<br />
There have been developing major changes in the practice of long term elder care. Many seniors don&#8217;t need round the clock nursing care, but do need some nursing supervision. Senior housing communities often have an on-site nurse who is available to help residents with medication problems, take care of routine medical care and be available in case of an emergency. The nurse on site will also often consult with doctors who work with individual residents to help manage any medical care that they need. The pay scale is generally quite good, and the hours closer to a regular work week than in many other geriatric nursing jobs.<br />
Due to this high demand on this job it is easy to find many different opportunities and choose one with favorable working conditions and hours.<br />
There are companies offering placement for nurses to meet situational requirements. You may not want the responsibility of a full-time position in a hospital, but want to work only a few weeks at a time. You have plenty of options. Choose travel nursing and spend a few days on the road each month, or a few months out at a time. Pick up part-time work or temporary positions. You have plenty of options without working full time and there are companies that do nothing but placements for people like you. Be careful to choose a reputable company and be wary of signing a long-term contract that limits your work with other companies, but this could be a viable option.<br />
The pay is great. Bonuses are paid when you are hired. You do not have to work in the same place year after year. In fact, you can change the vocation landscape every quarter if you wish.<br />
With the promise of meaningful work, job security and new opportunities, second-career nurses bring maturity, commitment and life experience to the workplace. Some say that after years of just making money, they want to do meaningful work. Others feel trapped in limited professions or have lost their jobs in a sliding economy and see new opportunities in nursing. To attract and keep their interest, many nursing schools have established accelerated bachelor&#8217;s degree programs for students who already have a degree in another field. In addition to a long list of prerequisite courses, mostly human sciences and psychology, most programs last three semesters and require 18 to 20 hours of coursework and another three to five hours of clinicals per week.</p>

			<content:encoded><![CDATA[<p>As the crucial voting for energy legislation draws nearer, the American Wind Energy Association or AWEA will be taking a majors step towards advocating the use of wind power for energy consumption.  The said group will launch a massive ad campaign today.  The said ads are aimed towards supporting the move to have a renewable electricity standard or RES.  The advocacy campaign will invade different mediums from TV commercials to print ads.</p>
<p>&#8220;The ad campaign is part of a broader effort to focus attention on this crucial referendum on American energy policy,&#8221; said Gregory Wetstone, director of Government and Public Affairs of AWEA.  &#8220;We believe that greater public awareness will translate into more Congressional support for renewable energy sources like wind and solar power, which are overwhelmingly popular, but face well-financed opposition,&#8221; he added.</p>
<p>The RES being debated on widely is a mechanism which is based on the market.  The RES calls for a fixed portion of the country&#8217;s source of electricity to be produced using renewable resources.  Today, 25 states have already enacted renewable energy standards.  But experts agree that a national RES will be much more beneficial.</p>
<p>This week, the House of Representative will decide on the matter. This issue is being targeted early on because of the increasing awareness to the threat of global warming.</p>
<p>There have been studies conducted to find out the benefits of an RES.  According to results of these studies, an RES in place will slow down global warming.  With renewable energy sources being tapped, less petroleum fuel will be burned.  That translates to less greenhouse gases.  This move will be beneficial in the future as automakers are now experimenting with vehicles which run on electricity alone.  Automobiles like the Acura CL compressor -equipped luxury car are considered as one of the biggest producers of harmful greenhouse gases.</p>
<p>Another benefit of an RES is that it creates jobs.  According to a study conducted by the Union of Concerned Scientists, an RES will help create about 185,000 American jobs.  Wind and solar energy are expected to be the biggest source of alternative energy.  With a national RES, these industries will experience a boom thus creating jobs for Americans.</p>
<p>Studies also reported that an RES would &#8220;revitalize rural America&#8221;.  According to the studies, rural land owners will be able to take about $3,000 to $8,000 per turbine annually while still being able to work their land.  These benefits will be deliberated for sure before the House of Representatives decide on the issue.</p>

A recruiter can ease the pain of the search in several ways: she has contacts you can only dream of, she knows where the jobs are that you probably won&#8217;t, and she will help you prepare for interviews with inside knowledge of the company and an objective eye for you. However, sometimes there are misconceptions about recruiters that cause a candidate to question the process. The two main questions candidates have are always the same: &#8220;How much does it cost?&#8221; and &#8220;Why can&#8217;t I apply directly to the company?&#8221;</p>
<p>All contingency recruiters work in basically the same way: Candidates pay nothing. Clients pay if a match is made.</p>
<p>HOW A RECRUITER WORKS:</p>
<p>1. You submit your resume to the recruiter.</p>
<p>2. The recruiter looks to see if she has a job order that is a fit for you&#8211;or if she knows a company that could use your skills and experiences in their organization. Some of the best jobs are created for candidates&#8211; more specifically, great candidates.</p>
<p>3. If she sees a good match, she calls you and describe the opportunity. If you agree, she submits your information to the client company.</p>
<p>4. The company puts you through its hiring process.</p>
<p>5. If they hire you, they are billed by the recruiter. If not, you get the news that they are not moving forward. And then the recruiter keeps you in the database in case there&#8217;s another appropriate opportunity for you. And since the recruiter has gotten to know you, you will likely be remembered every time she works with a firm that could use your specific talent. Recruiters frequently make introductions between companies and candidates sometimes before they even realize there is a need.</p>
<p>WHY CAN&#8217;T YOU GET THE JOB ON YOUR OWN?</p>
<p>So, why shouldn&#8217;t you apply directly to the company? Because it&#8217;s much riskier for you. When you apply directly, your resume goes into a company black hole. Very few companies mine their database like recruiters do. (If they do, your resume had better be absolutely incredible for you to surface to the top.) You&#8217;re stuck waiting for them to call you. If you call them, you&#8217;ll likely get less than a direct answer. At best.</p>
<p>WHAT A RECRUITER CAN DO FOR YOU:</p>
<p>On the other hand, a recruiter has the freedom (and the responsibility) to call the company after she submits you, push for a first interview, help you prepare for the interview since we know the company and what they&#8217;re looking for, correct some mistakes before you make them, and give you specific feedback after the interview. Even though you&#8217;re not &#8220;the client,&#8221; a recruiter is going to be an advocate for a successful placement. If the recruiter has taken a chance on you, he or she is going to have a vested interest in your success. It becomes an advantage for you.</p>
<p>Having said that, if a recruiter finds out that you&#8217;ve already applied directly to the company, he or she won&#8217;t deal with you on that. You will have shot yourself in the foot on that one, because you&#8217;ve taken away the incentive for the recruiter to work for your chance at that job: if the recruiter doesn&#8217;t place you from the beginning, he or she won&#8217;t receive a fee. In other words, you can&#8217;t apply and then decide you need help. You won&#8217;t get it.</p>
<p>It&#8217;s almost always going to be to your advantage to use a recruiter from the very beginning of your job search.</p>
